I have to say I'm really enjoying this unseasonable weather. It's so good to just stretch in a warm sunbeam and nap with a fresh, light breeze drifting over me. Every day should be like today.

I've been spending some extra time at the reporter house because the humans I live with are on a trip to Guatemala. Don't worry — there are plenty of people taking care of me. Your friend Bob is well-loved.

But I have to admit it's been a little lonely with my humans gone, so I've been showing my reporter friends some extra lovin' this week, just so they know I appreciate them.

They've all been working really hard to make sure other humans can get the news about what's happening at the Legislature — and boy is there a lot going on here! But even though everyone is busy, they still take time to stop and say "Hi" to me and scritch behind my ears. I figure it's my job to help keep everyone relaxed by being adorable.

  1. Hi Bob,

I really enjoyed our beautiful, warm weather today. I laid in my wicker chair and soaked up some sun rays, did that ever feel good. Almost as good as my hotpad, which, by the way, I slept on last night and probably will tonight also.

I am sure you are lonesome when your human owners are gone. I get lonesome when Mommy goes away. When I was very little she went away for a few days and I spent the whole night taking all of the covers off her bed. I was very tired and it took me all night. I think she is getting ready to go someplace again, the big black suitcase is sitting in the family room. Probably going to Palm Springs to see the man who lives next door, she has been talking on the telephone with him a lot the last few days.

Last summer a big, red truck with flashing red lights came to our house and the men with the truck took Mommy away on a big bed with wheels. I was so very scared as I watched it all happen for our window and my little heart was broken. Aunt Jessie and Uncle Phil kept telling me it was going to be just fine, but I got so upset I went under the bed and would not eat for them. Then one day after a week had gone by, sure enough, she came home. I was so happy. I spent some time after that taking care of her and making her all better. Humans get better when you give them lots of loving, purrs and rubs.

Are you staying at the "reporter house" all of the time while your human owners are gone?

Have you had anymore asthma attacks? I bet that would be very scary. Have ever had to use your inhaler?

Bob, do you know how old you are? How is your diet? Have you lost anymore weight.

Were you at the "While Huse" Friday? Mommy was up there for a meeting and wondered if you were there.

Have a good lazy Sunday, maybe I will get to go for a walk and look at the birds and flowers.

  2. Oh Bob,

What a lovely day. I went outside and walked and then I rolled in the grass, it smelled so good and everything is so new and fresh. The sun felt so good and I fell asleep in the sun on Aunt Jessie's porch. The birds were talking to me as I napped, I could hear them. When I woke up and walked in the flowers the bees were buzzing around me. I got stung by one once when I was a little girl. I really enjoyed today. I will probably have hayfever now, OH WELL, it was worth it. I have been sneezing since I came in.

    Did you enjoy today?

Bob, you really are a very pretty kitty, Do you have special food you like, other than cantelope.

    Have you heard from Gracie?

I am so sleepy after today, I am going to go get on Mommy's bed.

  3. Precious,

I hope your human is okay! That sounds very scary having her taken away like that.

I only go to the reporter house during the day. I go home at night and there's a spot in the garage where I can sleep, and the neighbors check and make sure I'm okay and have everything I need. But I will be very glad when my humans come home.

    Take care,
    Bob

  4. Hi Bob,

Do you want me to send you a hotpad for your bed in the garage? You are lucky you have the reporters and neighbors to take care of you. Some cats have to go stay at "cat hotels" when their humans go away. Really though, they are not so bad, they have aquariums, televisions, playrooms and you get special treats.....no hotpads.

If you did not live so far away, you could come stay with me next week, Mommy is going to be in Palm Springs. We could get into her Westport Winery Wine......I like Bordello Blonde. Just think of all the fun we could have and all of the birds we could chase. You could nap in my wicker chair also. Aunt Jessie will be taking care of me....I like her, she has cats too. She also has two dogs, I even like them.

I usually give Aunt Jessie a piece of Lia Sophia jewelry for taking care of me. I pick it out myself. She says I have very good taste.

Anything happening in the Legislature? Maybe you should just go over and stroll through the House and Senate Chambers and let them know you are around. Maybe you could go sit on Representative Kessler's desk and look adorable for her.

I still like the idea of a State Cat. We will work on that next session. Not enought time this session.

    Have a nice evening.

  5. Hi Bob,

Where did our nice warm sun rays go? Oh well, I still spent the afternoon in my wicker chair dreaming about chasing birds. This morning we even fed the birds by my window so I could watch them. I did get up briefly a couple of times and tried to help Mommy clean house, decided I would rather nap that do that.

Do you have any other cats in your neighborhood?

Your should probably go over to the big building and help them with their budget, bet you could. If you did not like what you saw, you could always lay a dead mouse on it. Do you ever catch mice? There are probably a lot of mice around those buildings.

Have a good evening Bob, I am going to go watch the skating...

  7. Hi Bob,

What are you up to? Is it quiet around the White House? Are you getting some good walks in with this nice weather we have been having? I have been watching the birds and laying in my wicker chair and getting lots of sun rays.

Mommy is home from Palm Springs, was sure glad to see her, but I did not make up with her for about three hours, that will teach her to go away and let Aunt Jessie take care of me. It was fun to have a whole, big house to myself, I did get lonesome at night. Uncle Phil, the man next door, will be home in a few days, I will sure be glad to have him here. I really like him and miss going to visit him?

Bob, I hope you are well, looking adorable and getting lots of naps in, the reporters will soon be gone, if not now and you will just have a couple of your friends to visit.

Mommy has to be Olympia today and tomorrow for meetings, she always tells me she looks at the White House and wonders if you are there napping.

  8. Hi Bob,

In the last couple of days, have you been over to visit the big building? Mommy came home last night and told me there is a big "cat" fight going on over there. Maybe you could see some excitement.

I have been outside this morning walking around in the sun, sure feels good. I am slmost ready for a nap, will curl up in my wicker chair and dream of the birds and let the rays shine on me.

Go check things out, maybe vist the people in the security shack.

My little blue Siamese eyes are getting very heavy, think I will now take my nap.

  9. Hi Bob,

Were you at the White House this afternoon? Mommy and Aunt Jessie went to see CATS and they drove by the White House so Aunt Jessie could see where it is. They enjoyed CATS and Mommy said I should have gone too.

How are you Bob? Anything exciting happening around the capitol building, Mommy said it looked pretty quiet.

Did you hear that terrible storm we had Sunday night? I was very scared and got into Mommy's bed and cuddled up very close to her.

I am so happy today, late this afternoon Uncle Phil got home from Palm Springs. I have already been over to his house to see him and I rubbed and purred for him. He has called Mommy twice.

I am going to bed on Mommy's bed now, I am tired.

    Later Bob.

    Your Siamese freind,

  10. Hi Bob,

It is probably very quiet at the White House now that the legislators have gone home. I am sad that Representative Kessler is not going to run again, Mommy likes her a lot. You are probably getting lots of naps.

Bob, tomorrow is my 4th birthday and Mommy has a big birthday cake ordered for me. I will get some of the frosting, she usually gets me a pretty balloon also. The neighbors bring me birthday presents.

Tomorrow I am going to get my check-up also. I like my Dr. and will purr for him and look adorable. I feel fine, so I am sure I will have a good report.

It is raining really hard so I think I will go lay in my wicker chair and take a nice long nap.

    Bob, you take care.

  11. Dear Bob,

I had my 4th birthday Tuesday, Mommy ordered this big birthday cake with raspberry filling and the neighbors all had some. They gave me presents also, birthdays are fun on our street, which by the way is Wisteria Lane.

I had my doctor's appointment Tuesday and I am very healthy. I do need to brush my teeth now and I do that every night. Not real fun, but the toothpaste tastes really good. My tooth brush is pretty green and it is in the holder next to Mommy's. My toothpate tastes like malt.

Mommy had her check up this week and she is good also.

I have watched the birds every morning, that is when Mommy puts bread out for the birds, she does it near my window so I can watch.

Uncle Phil comes to see me every night, he says he is getting the paper, but he sure plays with me a lot while he is here. I like having him come, sure hope he never decides to take his own paper.

After we left the Doctor Tuesday, Mommy took me to see my friends at Grays Harbor Equipment, I got bored so I fell asleep on Uncle Skip's counter.

How are you Bob? Are you still healthy? How is your Asthma? Do you brush your teeth.

Mommy says someday when she is at the Capitol, she is going to come visit you, would like to pet you and show you some of my adorable pictures.

Well Bob, Mommy fed me some little shrimp and I am now very, very sleepy, guess I will go get into my wicker chair and take a nap. We are going to watch the Kentucky Derby tomorrow, maybe Mommy will let me have some Westport wine, Bordello Blonde.

Have a save and warm night.

  12. Hi Bob,

Are you doing any campaigning? Mommy and I have, our yard has several signs in it and Mommy took me with her when she went doorbelling in our neighborhood.

We have had our house painted and it looks really nice and Mommy ordered new blinds for all the windows, seems as though I have broken several by walking through them, Oh Well.

I sure wish it would warm up, the TV said we are going to have a very cold winter, hope Mommy has my hot pad working.

I have been watching the pretty birds and enjoying them very much. Aunt Jessie's cats watch also. The lady across the street said our bird food was plugging up her fountain, well we did not quit feeding the birds.

It must be quiet at the White House right now, just wait a few more months, Mommy is getting ready for then. Are you getting a lot of sleep during the quiet time?

Mommy has not gone any place, but I think she and Aunt Jessie might be getting ready to go to Hawaii, were looking at airfares the other day. I suppose this time I will have to go stay at the cat hotel, Aunt Jessie is usually the one who cat sits me when Mommy is gone.

Bob, have a good evening, hope you are well. I am going to go get in my wicker chair and nap until Mommy goes to bed.

  14. Hi Bob,

How are you? Mommy has been to a convention and I had the whole house to myself. You could have come and sat in my wicker chair with me and watched the birds.

Mommy said that at the convention they decided on several things to talk about with the legislators next session, you will probably hear about most of them, maybe even see Mommy.

I have been good, I watch the birds a lot and Mommy takes me out in the yard on my leash and lets me sleep under the bush, sometimes I am out there for three hours.

I missed Mommy, Aunt Jessie took care of me, I like her a lot. I go over and visit Uncle Phil a lot, I reaaly like him too, I get to go in side his house and look around. It is more fun to look around inside his shed.

Hope you are enjoying life, things will start getting lively in a couple of months.

  15. Hi Bob,

How are you these nice fall days? I am home again. Mommy and Aunt Jessie went to Hawaii and I went to stay at the Cat Hotel, that was OK, but I refused to have anything to do with the other cats, just walked right by them with my Siamese tail swishing in the air. I even bit the hotel owner twice, just wanted to let her know who was in charge. The Cat Hotel has a TV, aquariam and I had a big condo tht was three stories and had windows on every story so I could see outside. I was glad to get home and see Mommy, my wicker chair had not been moved and my toys were all where I had left them....I really loved Mommy the first couple of nights home.

This afternoon I have been laying on the dryer watching the birds in the driveway.

Bob, I hope you are getting a lot of rest, legislature will be starting soon and then things will be really busy in the White House. You will even get some new kitten interns.

I hope you do not get scared Halloween, Mommy makes me stay in the bedroom until all the scary spooks quit coming. Guess that is OK, I would probaly be frightened and have bad dreams.

    Have a nice day Bob.

  16. Hi Bob,

Mommy was at the mansion today for a tea, before the tea she drove down the street to the White House and you were out in the street....she knows it was you, you were enjoying the sun.

Mommy says you are a very pretty kitty....

How are you Bob? Are you staying well?

We have our Christmas tree up and lighted and lots of decorations, we like holidays at our house. I like to play with the tree. Last year Mommy bought me a Christmas train, this year I have a lighted village to go with it, I sit in the village and watch the train go around the track. In our front yard we have a Santa and reindeer that fly, I enjoy watching them also.

Is the White House going to be busy tomorrow?

Bob, you have a good evening, I have been helping put the groceries away so I am now tired, must take a nap in my wicker.
